PURPOSE: A spindle motor is provided to suppress the leakage of a magnetic flux from an operating magnet to a rotor hub through a protruding unit. CONSTITUTION: A stator core(140) is fixed to a base member(120). A coil(101) is wound on the stator core. An operating magnet(190) is installed in a rotor hub(180) to face the stator core. The operating magnet includes a protruding unit(192) touching the bottom of the rotor hub.
