PURPOSE: A position correcting device of a heat rolling material in an accelerating cooler and a control method thereof are provided to reduce excessive cooling or temperature deviation through precise cooling control by correcting a position error. CONSTITUTION: A position correcting device of a heat rolling material in an accelerating cooler comprises an inductor sensor and a control unit. The inductor sensor is installed at a run out table and senses an eddy current of an AC magnetic field moving along a pass line. The control unit controls operation of the inductor sensor by calculating a position of the heat rolling material based on transfer speed of the run out table and an approach condition of the heat rolling material(S30). The control unit corrects the position by receiving the eddy current of the AC magnetic field and by detecting the position of the heat rolling material.
