Method and system for locating sources interfering on a signal received by a receiver comprising an array of antennas, comprising the following steps: .cndot. a step of calculating the spatio-temporal intercorrelation matrix R xx, .cndot. a step of subdividing the useful band of the said signals into sub bands (b), .cndot. for each sub-band (b), - a step of calculating the spatial intercorrelation matrix R(b) associated with the sub-band (b) and of calculating at least one of its eigenvalues {.lambda.1, .lambda.2,... .lambda.M}, - a step of detecting interference with the aid of the following detection criterion: (see above formula) - a step of determining the eigenvectors {U1, U2,... U N} of the spatial intercorrelation matrix R(b), - a step of determining the directions of arrival of the interfering sources by searching for the vectors of relative gains belonging to the said interference sub-space or which are orthogonal to the orthogonal noise sub-space and complementary to the interference sub-space.
