PURPOSE: A composition containing KAISO protein for inducing apoptosis is provided to suppress or treat damages due to genotoxicity. CONSTITUTION: A composition for inducing apoptosis contains a polypeptide(KAISO protein) with an amino acid sequence in sequence number 2, or a nucleotide sequence which encodes the amino acid sequence as an active ingredient. A composition for preventing or treating damages due to genotoxicity contains the polypeptide(KAISO protein) with the amino acid sequence in sequence number 2, or the nucleotide sequence which encodes the amino acid sequence as an active ingredient.
