PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to prevent the leakage of current generated in an electrode assembly and to be stably fixed in a case. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery(100) includes an electrode assembly(10) which comprises a positive electrode(11), a negative electrode(12), and a separator between the positive electrode and negative electrode; a current collector(40,50) which is electrically or mechanically connected to the positive electrode or negative electrode; a case(34) accommodating the electrode assembly and current collector; a cap plate(30) which includes terminals(21,22) electrically connected to the current collector; and separation elements(80,90) which includes a protrusion fixed to the cap plate and a main body extended in the longitudinal direction of the current collector and located in between the current collector and the inner side of the case.
