PURPOSE: Recognition region variable control system and method of a vehicle sensor are provided to vary the size of the ROI(region of interest) recognition region detecting an object by the running state of a vehicle and road information. CONSTITUTION: A recognition region variable control system of a vehicle sensor comprises the following: a sensor module(10) detecting an object approaching to the ROI(region of interest) recognition region formed with the prefixed horizontal recognition distance and longitudinal recognition distance around a vehicle; a position information grasping module(20) grasping location information of the vehicle; a running state grasping module(30) grasping the running state of the vehicle including the running speed and the running direction; a recognition region control module(50) grasping the longitudinal acceleration, the running speed, the steering angle, the horizontal acceleration, or the rotation angular speed of the vehicle using the running state of the vehicle; and a road information providing module(40) grasping the road curvature, the limit speed, the number of lanes, and the paved road surface. The longitudinal recognition distance of the vehicle increases when the running speed or the longitudinal acceleration is greater than the standard. The horizontal recognition distance increases when the running speed, the steering angle, the horizontal acceleration, or the rotation angular speed is greater than the standard. |
