PURPOSE: A method for reducing the line defect of hot coils is provided to reduce the fraction defective of products by reducing the line defect of the hot coils as the content of molten metal is adjusted. CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing the line defect of hot coils is as follows; a step for extracting the concentration of Ca, total Al, and solute Al by analyzing the content of molten metal received in a tundish(S1); a step for calculating the LDGI(Line Defect Generation Index) of the hot coils according to the concentration of Ca, total Al, and solute Al(S2); and a step for predicting the line defect generation of the hot coils using the calculated LDGI(S3).
