PURPOSE: A road equipment automatic position measuring method is provided to use a method such as GPS(Global Positioning System), IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit), and IPM(Inverse Perspective Method) in order to automatically store information such as the type of equipment and position information, automatically measure the position of road equipment, and provide the road equipment automatic position measuring method in which a user can automatically correct, renew, and input information. CONSTITUTION: A road equipment automatic position measuring method comprises the following: synchronizing with GPS Time and DMI(Distance Measurement Instrument) on a real-time basis, calculating a directional angle, posture and position information of a vehicle, and extracting location and posture information of the vehicle by integrating GPS and DMI based on the calculated vehicle information; using a camera and automatically storing the road equipment on a real-time basis by photographing an image within an area defined as a FOV(Field of View) on demand; converting the stored image coordinate into a photograph coordinate; calculating a longitude and latitude coordinate using the GPS and IMU and a posture value of the vehicle using roll, pitch, and heading values of the recognized road equipment and converting into IPM on a real-time basis; and automatically storing real world coordinates of the road equipment on a real-time basis.
