The present invention relates to a method for providing a semantic application, which is provided independent of a digital broadcast, from a receiver which provides the digital broadcast and executes the semantic application, the method comprising the steps of: (a) receiving an event for executing the semantic application, while providing the digital broadcast; (b) acquiring an execution mode for the semantic application; and (c) automatically executing the semantic application on the basis of the execution mode, or executing same after receiving a user confirmation. According to the present invention, a plurality of semantic applications can be provided, and entities other than digital broadcast providers can provide semantic applications. In addition, the inconvenience of a user confirming the execution of each semantic application can be minimized, because any semantic application can be executed automatically or after a user confirmation. |
