PURPOSE: An air cooling apparatus for electro-gas welding is provided to prevent the overheating of a welding torch and a shoe by efficiently cooling the shoe and the welding torch and to omit maintenance such as supplementing cooling water or antifreeze. CONSTITUTION: An air cooling apparatus for electro-gas welding comprises a shoe(10) and a vortex tube(40). The shoe has a cold air passage(12). The vortex tube supplies cold air to a welding torch while moving with the shoe. The vortex tube converts compressive air into cold or hot air, and has a cold air outlet through which the cold air is discharged to the shoe and the welding torch.
