<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a temporary failure of a fuel pressure sensor for detecting fuel pressure in fuel piping. <P>SOLUTION: When an absolute value of a deviation between recently and normally determined sensor output VFPOLD and the latest sensor output VFP exceeds a first threshold A, it is determined that the failure such as superimposition of a noise occurs in the output of the fuel pressure sensor; 1 is set for an failure determination flag FLGFP; and drive duty of a fuel pump is calculated on the basis of the recently and normally determined sensor output VFPOLD. When a state, in which an absolute value of a deviation between actual fuel pressure FUPR obtained by converting the latest output of the fuel pressure sensor 33 and target fuel pressure TGFUPR falls below a second threshold B, continues in excess of set time tSL, the determination of the failure is released, and the failure determination flag FLGFP is reset to 0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
