An organic thin film solar cell, which is provided with a first electrode, a second electrode and a photoelectric conversion layer that is arranged between the first electrode and the second electrode, and wherein the photoelectric conversion layer contains a polymer that has a structural unit represented by formula (I). (In the formula, X represents S, NR2, O, Se or Te; Y represents NR2, O, Te, SO, SO2 or CO; and each of R1 and R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent.)
