The method involves determining distance between vehicle and mobile identification transmitter (IDG) by a vehicle-side distance determining units (SEE,STE). An illumination source (BL) of vehicle (FZ) is adjusted as a function of the determined distance. The authentication of mobile identification transmitter is performed in order to check the membership of mobile identification transmitter. An independent claim is included for an access arrangement.
