PRE-TREATMENT OF FROZEN LOGS

The invention relates to a device and a method for wetting logs. To provide a solution for the pre-treatment of frozen logs which consumes less energy in comparison to known solutions, according to the invention the logs are placed in an air-tight housing and pressure inside the housing is reduced by means of a negative pressure system. A hot liquid and/or hot steam is introduced into the housing via supply lines provided for this purpose. The pressure in the housing is normalized again and the logs are guided out of the housing.
