<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translation system configured to provide a highly accurate translation result even when using a general-purpose machine translation, while allowing a user to just request translation. <P>SOLUTION: The translation system includes: machine translation execution means 5 that executes machine translation using a general-purpose machine translation dictionary; translation request acceptance means that accepts a translation request for translating a translation object sentence for specific specialized application of first language into second language different from the first language; and intermediate translation execution means that analyzes the translation object sentence of the first language on the basis of translation request accepted by the translation request acceptance means, executes intermediate translation for converting words that are convertible by a specialized dictionary for converting words in the specific specialized application of the first language into words of the second language, into words of the second language, acquires the intermediate translation result, and delivers the intermediate translation result to the machine translation execution means 5.
