A wireless communication system comprises a mobile station (1) and a base station. The base station comprises a blind decoding control unit that transmits, on the basis of a result of measuring a data amount of the mobile station (1), a signal, which includes a control signal that is to be an opportunity to change the decoding process, to the mobile station (1). The mobile station (1) comprises a blind decoding control unit (112). Taking the control signal, which has been received from the base station, opportunity, the blind decoding control unit (112) selects a format of a signal to be decoded, and decodes that one of signals received from the base station which has the selected format, thereby detecting the control signal addressed to the mobile station (1).
