Provided is an organic electroluminescence element with a low rate of decline of brightness immediately after commencement of light emission. An organic electroluminescence element comprises, upon a substrate: a pair of electrodes formed from a cathode and an anode; a light emitting layer between the electrodes; and at least one organic layer between the light emitting layer and the cathode. The organic electroluminescence element further comprises: at least one type of specified compound in the at least one organic layer between the light emitting layer and the cathode which includes a fluorine structure; and as a light emitting material of the light emitting layer, at least one type of specified compound including either a carbazole structure or a fluorine structure.
