The present invention relates to the field of communications. Disclosed are a method for updating and authenticating a QUALCOMM chat (Qchat) mobile terminal and a mobile terminal. In the present invention, a historical result of Qchat service data updating is recorded in a preset storage location of a mobile terminal, so that each time the mobile terminal is started up and a mobile terminal card is not replaced, the mobile terminal only needs to read the historical result of Qchat service data updating at the preset location, determine, according to the result, whether a Qchat service is enabled in the current mobile terminal card, and if the Qchat service is not enabled, skips the Qchat service data updating process, and directly executes the start process except the Qchat service data updating, thereby effectively reducing the wasted tariff incurred when a non-Qchat mobile terminal is started up, not affecting the use of a normal Qchat user, and improving the user experience. |
