The boom device has a supporting arm (22) i.e. frontally fork-like supporting arm, on which a tool drum (50) is mounted and a separate swinging base (21) swings in relation to the base frame by the swinging device. The supporting arm and the swinging base are connected to each other by a set of guide bars (23) to adjust a setting angle of a drum axis in relation to a swing axis (S). #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for driving a set of tunnels, a set of roadways or a set of shafts in a hard rock with a mobile mining machine. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Mobile mining machine for driving or advancing tunnels, roadways or shafts into a hard rock to extract material for mineral extraction in a tunnel mining application. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The boom device has the supporting arm and the swinging base connected to each other by the guide bars to adjust the setting angle of the drum axis in relation to the swing axis, thus driving or advancing the tunnels, roadways and shafts into a hard rock with a high extraction rate and reduced tool wear. The machine uses a set of stripping tools that are in contact with the rock during the swinging movement and another set of stripping tools in contact with the rock during an opposite swinging movement, thus avoiding a risk of the tools that are not performing any extraction work from being touched or worn by the material by fixing the setting angle such that a set of inactive tools is in a shadow of the tools performing a stripping work, and hence enabling changing of a tilting position and adapting or optimizing the setting angle.
