摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell that improves drainage of water from electrodes and the vicinity thereof more sufficiently and more stably. <P>SOLUTION: A unit cell of a fuel cell includes a gas diffusion layer 22 that is formed integrally on each of outer surfaces of an MEA where a cathode 2a and an anode are arranged with an electrolyte membrane sandwiched therebetween, and a cathode separator and an anode separator that are provided on respective sides of the gas diffusion layers 22. The gas diffusion layer 22 on the side of the cathode 2a has: a water-repellent portion 221 arranged on the cathode 2a side; and a base portion 222 arranged on the cathode separator side. The water-repellent portion 221 has a plurality of pores H with a pore size distribution range of 0.1 &mu;m to 0.6 &mu;m. Thus, seepage pressure in the water-repellent portion 221 is kept sufficiently low, and the pores H in the water-repellent portion 221 are prevented from becoming saturated to an excessively high degree. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
