<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump water heater which effectively suppress scale deposition thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A heat pump water heater 11 includes a tank 15, a refrigerant circuit 10 having a water heat exchanger 21, water channels 27, 29, an electrolyzer 41 having an electrode pair 49 provided in a water channel further upstream than the water heat exchanger 21 in the water channel including the water channels 27, 29, and a control portion 33 which inverts the polarity of the electrode pair 49 in the electrolyzer 41 and executes an initial operation for draining the processed water in the electrolyzer 41 in a position further upstream than the water heat exchanger 21 by the time a predetermined condition is satisfied after polarity inversion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
