<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transport live fish while decomposing and converting highly toxic ammonium excreted by the live fish into nitrogen. <P>SOLUTION: A solid tablet composed chiefly of calcium hypochlorite is formed. The surface of the tablet is coated and sealed using HPMCP, zein, shellac, or other coating materials, or such packing materials as vacuum packing or shrink-wrap, by about 99% of the tablet surface, so that in an aqueous solution or seawater, the dissolution speed at which the tablet is dissolved is reduced as much as possible. The highly toxic ammonium excreted by live fish is chemically reacted with calcium hypochlorite to convert the ammonium into harmless nitrogen and to enable the live fish to be transported for a long time, i.e., from 72 hours (three days and nights) to 96 hours (four days and nights). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
