A protector (1) that is used by being fitted on a puncturing implement (50). The protector is provided with: an outer tube (2) comprising an outer tube body (3) in which an outer tube lumen (4) for storing the puncturing implement (50) is formed, a holding part (5) for holding the hub (52), and an extended part (8) that extends from the holding part (5) towards the base end; and an inner tube (9), which is held on the base end side of the outer tube lumen (4), in which an inner tube lumen (11) into which a tube (53) is inserted is formed, and which has an inner tube body (10) that can move toward the leading end of the outer tube lumen (4), and a sloped luminal part (12) that is formed so that the inner diameter of the inner tube lumen (11) expands gradually towards the leading end of the inner tube body (10). By moving the inner tube (9) in the direction of the leading end, the inner surface of the sloped luminal part (12) contacts the extended part (8) and the extended part (8) is energized by the sloped luminal part (12) in a direction that reduces the diameter of the tube (53). |
