<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-wattage type ceramic metal halide lamp luminaire which is smooth in lighting, with a plurality of (for example, two) luminous tubes connected in series. <P>SOLUTION: The high-wattage type ceramic metal halide lamp luminaire includes: a ballast (26) which receives a primary input voltage (24) and outputs a secondary voltage; and a lamp (10) which contains a plurality of luminous tubes (12a and 12b) electrically connected in series inside an external bulb (16), and receives the secondary voltage from the ballast to light up. The secondary voltage from the ballast satisfies, at least in its waveform, a maximum value/effective value ratio (Vmax/Veff)>2<SP POS="POST">0.5</SP>. For example, in a case where two general purpose type 360 W luminous tubes are used to be electrically connected in series, instead of a 700 W luminous tube of high-wattage type, a triangle wave AC voltage is preferred to be used which is 260 V≤Veff<SB POS="POST">(triangle wave)</SB>when represented by effective value and 500 V≤Vmax<SB POS="POST">(triangle wave)</SB>when represented by maximum value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
