<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new liquid crystal compound having a high transparent point, good compatibilities with other compounds, a small viscosity, high stability to heat and light, and a liquid crystal composition containing this compound. <P>SOLUTION: The new liquid crystal compound is expressed by compound (1). In addition, the liquid crystal composition includes this compound (1). In compound (1), R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>is a 4-10C alkyl or -(CH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>)<SB POS="POST">2</SB>-CH=CH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>; R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>is a 2-10C alkyl; n is 8; and R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are not the linear alkyl of the same carbon number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
