<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving assist device that can perform more convenient driving assist when a driver cautiously drives a vehicle by taking care of an ambient environment of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The driving assist device 100 which displays images by switching the images according to the ambient environment of the vehicle and the vehicle state includes a screen display switch 9 a screen display 10 for displaying a rear image of the vehicle when an object is detected around the vehicle and the vehicle is not in an initial advancing state after an ignition-on state.
