A liquefying apparatus according to an aspect of the present invention, which can liquefy carbon dioxide without the use of an additional external coolant or heat exchanger, comprises: a compression unit including a plurality of compressors coupled to each other, and using the plurality of compressors to gradually compress a first feed stream in a vapor phase such that the first feed stream reaches a first target pressure; a condenser condensing the first feed stream of the first target pressure into a second feed stream; and an expansion unit including a plurality of valves coupled to each other, and using the plurality of valves to gradually expand the second feed stream such that the second feed stream reaches a second target pressure.
