The X-ray detector (10) comprises X-ray converter for conversion of X-rays and an active matrix (12) of pixel elements (14) for detecting and reading converted X-radiation. The active matrix is formed by performing complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) fabrication process of silicon wafer (18). The sensitive surface of active matrix is circular or semicircular. The pixel element is provided with photodiode (13), capacitor and switching element.
