The train has a variator machine unit (8a) i.e. hydrostatic pump (10), operatively connected with another variator machine unit (8b) i.e. hydrostatic motor (11), by a switchable clutch (14) i.e. axial displaceable shaft sleeve or friction clutch, where the machine units are mechanically connected with each other. A variator input shaft (7) and a variator output shaft (9) are aligned to each other. A common control bottom retainer (12) is axially provided between the hydrostatic pump and the hydrostatic motor. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
