The system has a support (2) i.e. prism support, provided for positioning and holding a measuring tube of a volumetric flow meter during processing of the flow meter in a manufacturing process and during transporting of the flow meter in a transport box. The support and the transport box form a form closure perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the measuring tube. The support has a planar contact surface (7) that is designed such that the longitudinal axis runs parallel to the contact surface. The support has two plates (9) that are connected with one another by a connection element (10). An independent claim is also included for a method for transporting volumetric flow.
