<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact rotary drive device, capable of protecting a device from counter electromotive force generated by a motor generator at a short-circuit failure of a switching element. <P>SOLUTION: A rotary drive device 1 includes a three-phase alternating current motor generator 2 and a three-phase inverter 4 connected to the motor generator 2 through a power cable 3. The inverter 4 includes transistors 9a, 10a, transistors 9b, 10b and transistors 9c, 10c respectively connected in series between a positive common line 7 and a negative common line 8. Shunt resistors 14a-14c are connected between the corrector terminals of the transistors 9a-9c and the positive common line 7, and shunt resistors 15a-15c are connected between the emitter terminals of the transistors 10a-10c and the negative common line 8. Each shunt resistor 14a-15c has a fuse function, and is such an element as to produce an open failure if a current of a predetermined amount or greater flows. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
