摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption while preventing overcharging of a secondary battery in a power supply. <P>SOLUTION: When residual capacity becomes less than 90%, a microcomputer suspends power supply from the secondary battery to the microcomputer by switching off a switching element. Even in a state that the residual capacity is not stored in the microcomputer, as depicted in the chart 32, if charging is made from the state of residual capacity of less than 90%, the secondary battery becomes a full charge state when a battery voltage condition is established in principle. Then, when the battery voltage condition is established, the microcomputer terminates charging irrespective of a residual capacity value stored at that time point. By this, power consumption can be reduced. In contrast, when charging is made from the state of the residual capacity of 90% or greater, as depicted in the chart 31, the microcomputer terminates charging the secondary battery when the battery voltage value of the secondary battery indicates before a peak value and the residual capacity becomes 100%.
