Described is a needle safetydevice (2) comprising a needle hub (2.2), a needle (2.3) coupled to the needle hub (2.2) and having a distal tip, a sleeve (2.9) coupled to the needle hub (2.2), a needle shield (2.1) telescopically coupled to the sleeve (2.9); and a needle disabling mechanismcoupled to the needle (2.3). In a first axial position (PA1), the needle shield (2.1) covers the distal tip of the needle (2.3) and the needle disabling mechanism is in a first angular position. In a retracted position (PR), the needle shield (2.1)is retracted relative to the needle (2.3) exposing thedistal tip of the needle (2.3). Ina second axial position (PA2), the needle shield (2.1) is distal ofthe first axial position (PA1) andthe needle disabling mechanism is in a second angular position bending the needle (2.3). |
