The invention relates to a method for producing leather (1) with a textile/ nonwoven layer (2). The invention is characterized in that the following method steps are carried out: producing a leather layer (3) from an animal skin, said layer having a grain side (4); applying and in particular adhering the textile/nonwoven layer (2) on the grain side (4) of the leather layer (3); and spraying a finish (8) onto the textile/nonwoven layer (2), said finish optionally partly penetrating the textile/nonwoven layer (2).
