ACCESS SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES USING MOBILE PHONES

PURPOSE: A vehicle access system using a portable terminal is provided to enable a user to open a door of a vehicle without a CID(Customer Identification Device) using a portable terminal including a GPS(Global Positioning System) function. CONSTITUTION: The location information and the passive entry request of a portable terminal are transmitted to a vehicle(140) using a portable terminal communication network. Communication data transmitted from the portable terminal is received through a communication module in the vehicle. A distance is determined by comparing the location of the vehicle and the location of the portable terminal. When the location of the portable terminal is near the vehicle, the passive entry request of a driver is executed. The location of the vehicle and the cellphone is obtained by using the location information of a GPS.
