The invention relates to a salt blend for a solar thermal power plant and to a process for production thereof, the salt blend having been produced like the known nitrate-based molten salt mixtures. Compared to the known molten salt mixtures, however, the salt blend according to the invention has a distinctly enhanced heat capacity.
