<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the occurrence of a dielectric breakdown caused by electron beam irradiation sterilization. <P>SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane type medical instrument 1 includes a cylindrical container 9; a bundle of hollow fiber membranes 3; headers provided at both ends of the cylindrical container 9 and having nozzles 4, 5 serving as fluid inlets/outlets; ports 6, 7 provided at the side face part of the cylindrical container 9 and serving as fluid inlets/outlets; and plug bodies 20, 30 detachably mounted to the nozzles 4, 5 and ports 6, 7 respectively. A first space 11 is provided between the inner surface of the hollow fiber membranes 3 and the inner surface of the header, and a second space 12 is provided between the outer surface of the hollow fiber membranes 3 and the inner surface of the cylindrical container. Communicating passages are formed between the first space 11 and the outside 10a of the cylindrical container and/or between the second space 12 and the outside 10a of the cylindrical container respectively through the plug bodies. Sterilization treatment by irradiation with electron beam is applied to the hollow fiber membrane type medical instrument 1 in a state of being enclosed in a packaging bag 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
