<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a karaoke device and a karaoke system which automatically set communication settings for acquiring karaoke data by the karaoke device even in a network environment having both a router with a P2P function and an ordinary router without the P2P function. <P>SOLUTION: When a karaoke device acquires a MAC address from a router, the karaoke device transmits the acquired MAC address to a center server SV. On receiving the MAC address, the center server SV determines whether the router associated with the MAC address is an ordinary router without a P2P function or a router with the P2P function.
