PURPOSE: An image display device and an operating method thereof are provided to display a home screen based on a final boot image generated using a dynamic boot image and a fixed boot image. CONSTITUTION: When the power of an image display device is initially turned on, a control unit of the image display device calls a fixed boot image stored in a non-volatile memory(S1315,S1320). The control unit calls a dynamic boot image stored in a network server(S1325). The control unit generates a final boot image by combining the images(S1330). The control unit displays a home screen based on the final boot image on a display(S1335).
