<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably detect an object such as a vehicle irrespective of a distance to the object. <P>SOLUTION: An external environment recognition device 100 for analyzing an image obtained by imaging an area around an own vehicle, includes a processing area setting unit 101 for setting a first area of an image indicating the near area and a second area of an image indicating the remote area, a first object detection unit 104 for performing object detection with a first discriminator 103 in the set first area, a second object detection unit 104 for performing object detection while considering a background pattern with a second discriminator 106 in the set second area, a rectangle correction unit 107 for correcting a detected object rectangle, and a collision prediction time calculation unit 108 for calculating a prediction time to collision on the basis of the detected object rectangle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
