<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlight control device capable of controlling a headlight so that safe night driving is allowed without blinding a pedestrian. <P>SOLUTION: This headlight control device comprises: a headlight control part controlling the switching between high and low beams of a headlight; a pedestrian direction detection part detecting a pedestrian ahead of a vehicle; and a pedestrian direction detection part detecting the direction of the pedestrian by performing image processing of image data of the pedestrian picked up by a CCD camera. When the pedestrian is detected by the pedestrian detection part, the headlight control part switches the headlight from a low beam to a high beam on condition that the direction of the pedestrian detected by the pedestrian direction detection part is backward relative to the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
