A rotary connector device enables appropriate connection and disconnection of a steering wheel to and from a rotator by facilitating the temporary affixation of the neutral position of the rotator relative to a stator and by making the state of pressing for the temporary affixation to be uniform. A rotary connector device (11) is provided with a stator (21) and a rotator (31). A temporary affixation mechanism (41) has a center hole (42) and is integrally affixed to the lower part of the rotator (31). The latch section (47) of an engagement member (44), which is moved upward by the pressing force of a built-in spring member (43), is engaged with the catch section (22a) of the stator (21) to perform temporary affixation. The latch section (47) and the catch section (22a) are formed at one neutral position and a position on the opposite side of the neutral position, the neutral position being a position which causes the rotator (31) to be located at a neutral position when the latch section (47) and the catch section (22a) are engaged with each other. A restriction means (49) for restricting the position of the upper end of the spring member (43) is provided in the vicinity of the spring contact surface (44a) of the engagement member (44), the spring contact surface (44a) being that with which the upper end of the spring member (43) makes contact. |
