Provided are a chewing gum for pets, which is capable of exhibiting an improved tooth brushing effect, and a method for producing the same. The chewing gum for pets, which is formed of animal skin, comprises a knitted part produced by knitting a single cord-shaped member that is obtained from animal skin. Owing to this structure, when a pet chews the chewing gum, the teeth thereof enter the spaces among the stitches in the knitted part so that a tooth brushing effect can be obtained. In addition, because of being configured of the single cord-shaped member, the knitted part scarcely comes apart into pieces but can retain the shape even in the case of being deformed by chewing. |
