<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a rotating time required to increase the temperature of an image heating member while restricting the temperature decrease of an end part of the image heating member even in a configuration in which heating means for partially heating an image heating member is provided in the rotating direction of the image heating member. <P>SOLUTION: The mage heating device comprises: the heating means for partially heating the image heating member in a rotating direction of the image heating member; and control means for controlling the power supply means so as to supply power to a resistant heat generation layer while the image heating member is stopped. The dimension of the heating means in its width direction orthogonal to the rotating direction of the image heating member is less than the dimension of the resistant heat generation layer in the width direction, and is greater than the width of a maximum-size recording material that can be passed through. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
