Clutch control method

The method involves controlling an automatically operable clutch (K1) by a clutch control device, where the clutch is associated with an engageable and disengageable gear of a stepped transmission. An incremental sensor is provided to detect a clutch position. The clutch associated with the engageable and disengageable gear is closed in a closing-reference position (S-R), so as to reference the incremental sensor to an absolute clutch position, while torque is partially transferred by the clutch and the engageable and disengageable gear.
