PURPOSE: A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce manufacturing costs and a non-display area by compressing and storing an image data in a frame memory. CONSTITUTION: A display panel displays static images and moving images. A signal control part(600) controls signals for operating the display panel. A graphic processor(700) transmits input image data to the signal control part. The signal control part comprises a frame memory(640) and a mixing part(680). The frame memory stores compressed image data which compresses the image data. The mixing part mixes a compressed restoration image data with the input image data for generating the mixed image data.
