PURPOSE: A unique identifier allocation method and a battery management system using the same are provided to effectively control a plurality of battery modules. CONSTITUTION: A BMS(Battery Management System)(100) includes a master battery management unit(110) and a plurality of slave battery management unit(120_1-120_N). The slave battery management unit sets allocation information managing a battery module. The master battery management unit manages the battery module by controlling the slave battery management unit connected to the slave battery management unit and allocates a unique identifier for the slave battery management unit based on the allocation information. The allocation information includes an MAC address of a device executing calibration between the slave battery management unit and the battery module and calibration execution time information.
