A device for connecting tubes comprises in combination a plurality of pairs of jaws 2, 3, one end portion of each pair being adapted to straddle a tube 4, the other end portion having two concave grooves 6 facing one another, a rigid member having convex portions 5 each of which is complementary in shape to a pair of the grooves 6 in combination, and a screw 7 for effecting the securing of a pair of jaws onto the rigid member and a tube. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the portions 5 are formed on the edges of a cube 1. in a second embodiment, Fig. 4, the portions 5 are formed at the edges of a generally flat hexagonal plate 8, and in a third embodiment the portions 5 are at the edges of a generally regular tetrahedron. To increase the hold of the jaws 2, 3 on the tube 4 the jaws have bosses 9 which engage apertures 10 in the tube. Alternatively the jaws have a lining of material having a high coefficient of friction. In another embodiment one of the jaws 2, 3 is welded to the tube 4. |
