Method and device for applying an edging strip section

The method involves supplying an edge band portion (2) to a workpiece (1) by a feed device (4) provided with a horizontal bar (4a) at a specific feeding speed. An edging aggregate portion (5) is pressed at the workpiece by a pressing roller (5a). The edge band portion is separated from predetermined location by a separating device (3) such as saw during edging process so that edge band portion with predetermined length is obtained. The separated edge band portion is fed along the horizontal bar at a preset feed speed corresponding to the specific feeding speed. An independent claim is included for a device for attaching edge band portion at narrow side of plate-like workpiece.
