A trough-shaped reflector 3 for a fluorescent tube 1 has a cross-section in the form of two partial parabolas the focii F 1 , F 2 of which lie on or in the tube and the axes H 1 , H 2 of which extend through the surface of the tube and are parallel or slightly inclined to the plane H containing the axis of the tube and the inter-section of the parabolas. The reflector may be made of plastic with a metallized reflecting layer. |
